TinyHawk™ – “Keep the surface clean”


The TinyHawk™ optical sensor is designed to detect oil contamination on static background (concrete, floor, water) in continuous unattended mode. When oils are detected, the sensor can give out an ALARM which is sent via 4-20 mA standard, MODBUS, etc. Sensing, processing and alarms are done continuously in real-time mode.

The sensor operates at ultraviolet (UV-A) excitation wavelength in pulsed mode. UV-light, upon coming into contact with oil contamination will cause the re-emission of incident light with a specifically up-shifted wavelength (fluorescent light). This fluorescence is then detected and processed by the sensor – when reaching a certain signal threshold the ALARM is reported.
